The third collaboration between Engineered Garments and Paraboot, from Fall/Winter 2024. Daiki Suzuki took the Chambord, Paraboot's apron-toe derby named after the Loire chateau, and added the buckle and strap off an old Chamonix ski boot he had turned up. The strap crosses the instep above five eyelets, so the shoe can be pulled tight and worn like a monk with the laces left slack or removed. Black grained Suportlo calf from the Degermann tanneries, natural leather lining, Paraboot's green flag tab stitched at the outside quarter, and the plaited leather storm welt of a Norwegian welt running the full circuit of the shoe onto a notched Jannu rubber lug sole. Made in France.
The label reads CHAMBORD BRIDE/JANNU EG NOIRE-GR NOIR, made in France, 234647, 8.5 on the box end, with the retailer's tag beside it reading PBEG4647 Engineered Garments x Paraboot - Chambord - Noir - 8.5, $785.00. Paraboot sizes in UK, so the 8.5 is a US 9.5. Listed as a US 9.5.
Condition: the toe caps have dulled against the rest of the upper and carry light surface scuffing, and there is soft creasing across both aprons. The grain is otherwise unmarked, the linings and footbeds are clean, and the lug soles are sharp with barely any wear at the heel. Comes with the box.
