A low-crown six-panel cap in black, cut from a fine technical woven with a low sheen, with a centre seam running up the front and small stitched eyelets high on the side panels. Across that seam, raised in white satin stitch, is Color University, a rounded soft-cornered sans with a small copyright mark set after the last letter. The bill is soft and pre-curved, topstitched in five rows, and the whole underside of it is bright green, as is the lining. The back is open, bridged by a black woven tab carrying the name again in yellow, and closes on a black webbing strap that runs through a metal slider and adjusts on a row of domed silver studs set along the back edge.
The label reads Color University, in yellow on the woven tab across the back and again in white across the front; there is no separate maker's or care label on the piece. Listed as one size.
Condition: no flaws found. The shell is an even black with no fading at the crown seams or the bill edge, the embroidery stands raised and unpulled, the green undervisor and lining are unmarked, and every stud is present and bright with the webbing unfrayed.
