Jun Takahashi's Undercover reworked the rubber boot for Nike and showed it on the AW19 “The Droogs” runway before it reached shops in November 2019. Black leather and nubuck panels sit over grid mesh, with olive-grey translucent TPU overlays cut in long curves, a full-length front zip on Undercover-branded tape, and two light blue rubber pull loops at each collar. The disc at the ankle pumps an air bag built into the collar, the same idea as the 1989 Air Pressure. Underneath is a React midsole with a teal cage and a translucent gum lug outsole; the white-speckled black panel with the blue Swoosh on the lateral midsole is the Blue Nebula the box names.
The label reads NIKE REACT BOOT / UC, BLACK/BLUE NEBULA, MENS 9, UK 8, cm 27, BR 40.5, EUR 42.5, WMNS 10.5, cm 27.5, CJ6971 001, MADE IN VIETNAM. Listed as a US 9.
Condition: worn. Grey grime sits across the black panels and in the seams, the nubuck at both toes has dulled and scuffed, and the translucent gum lugs have yellowed with dirt worked into them. The collar edges are lightly frayed where the TPU meets the leather. The zips run, the pull loops are intact, and the boots hold their shape. The pump is not included, so the collar air bag has not been tested and is sold untested. Comes with the box.
