A pair of khaki chinos reworked by hand into a one-off. The right hip is darned in a dense sashiko-style field of dots with blue, green and red thread worked through it; a sage green patch is set into one knee and a dark brown one into the other thigh; freehand machine-stitch scribbles in navy and purple, zigzag lines and a wandering single stitch run the length of both legs; and the hems are faced in pale blue denim. On the back, a label has been stitched over in coloured thread above the pocket.
The waistband label reads CC Conceptual Consumerism, 100% cotton. Chino cut with a button fly, belt loops and welt back pockets. There is no size on the label; the waist measures 32 inches, which is how we list it.
Condition: the patching, darning and stitching are the design of the piece, not repairs to it. No damage found beyond that.
