A burgundy V-neck in 100% lambswool, knitted in England by Alan Paine - fine gauge, full-fashioned, with a ribbed V neckband, ribbed cuffs and hem, and set-in sleeves. Plain front and back, no branding on the outside.

The label reads Abraham & Straus, by Alan Paine, made in England, 100% lambswool, size 40. Abraham & Straus was the Brooklyn department store, closed in 1995, so the sweater is older than that. On British knitwear 40 is the chest in inches, and a 40-inch chest is a US M - which is why we list it as an M.

Condition: no flaws found. The knit is full with no thinning at the elbows, the ribbing still has its spring, and the colour is even.
